CompuSystems achieves Payment Card Industry compliance
BROADVIEW, IL -- CompuSystems,
Inc. (CSI) has achieved Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance,
demonstrating their commitment to maintaining the highest information
security standards and protecting their client’s credit card
data.
"The security of our systems and our client’s
data is one of CSI's highest priorities," said Paul McCaffray,
CSI's Executive VP and COO. "Achieving this compliance was
very important to us. We’re working with millions of dollars
worth of credit card transactions each year. We need to know and
our clients need to know that the data is secure.”
The PCI Data Security Standard was introduced by
Visa/MasterCard in December 2004 and has since been adopted by American
Express and other major credit card companies. Standards include:
- Building and maintaining a secure network with properly configured
firewalls protecting data from outside attack
- Protecting card holder data, primarily through data encryption
- Maintaining a vulnerability management program by regularly
updating anti-virus software and by developing and maintaining
secure systems
- Implementing strong internal access control measures
- Regularly monitoring and testing networks
- Maintaining a rigorous information security policy
Non-compliance can result in significant fines
and the revocation of credit card transaction privileges.
To assure and test CSI’s continued compliance,
a system vulnerability scan is performed by a third-party PCI-certified
system security firm every quarter.

it is the only way that we feel comfortable doing business.”
