Late registrants not a problem with new CompuSystems services
2 new programs reduce time waiting in registration lines
Broadview, IL—Looking for a way to speedily process late registrants?
CompuSystems, Inc. (CSI) has introduced two services, Express Badge Pickup and FastLane Express Badge Printing Service that help simplify this challenge.
Express Badge Pickup is designed to service late registrants after the badge mailing cut-off date has passed. Instead of sending a badge, the late registrant is provided with an e-mail confirmation that contains a bar code. Once on site, the registrant takes a print out of the e-mail confirmation to an Express Registration Desk, scans the bar code and has a badge printed.
CSI’s new system has been tested in more than a dozen medical device conferences and expositions owned by Canon Communications in recent months.
"CSI’s Express Badge Pickup feature offers us a fast and convenient alternative for our attendees," said Karen Zisko, Manager, Registration Services for the Trade Show Division of Canon Communications, LLC. "By registering on-line and bringing their barcode confirmation on site, they are able to avoid long lines and spend their time on the show floor…not in registration."
The FastLane Express Badge Printing Service also is designed to help pre-registered attendees shorten their time waiting in line at registration. Using a PDA, a member of show management or a temporary staff person can look up the name of the pre-registered attendee and wirelessly send a message to a nearby printer to create a badge. There is no need for a bar code, only that the person be pre-registered. The service debuted at IAEM in December.
"Another use of FastLane Express is to speed up the registration process for association members," said Paul McCaffray, CSI COO. "With our FastLane PDA, show management can verify if a person is a member of the association. Often, this means that they should be in different line—usually a shorter one with preferred service."
