certification for excellence in accounting practices
BROADVIEW, IL--CompuSystems, Inc. (CSI) has been awarded
SAS 70 certification for excellence in its registration management
accounting practices.
Developed by the American Institute of Certified
Public Accountants, SAS (Statement on Auditing Standards) 70 is the
standard used to measure the reliability of a service organization’s
internal controls and auditing practices.
“As far as we know, we are the only trade show
registration service provider to achieve SAS 70 certification,” said
Paul McCaffray, CSI COO. “To qualify, we underwent a 10-day examination by an
independent auditor. The
examination confirmed that our customers’:
- Registration
information and payments are processed accurately and promptly,
- Assets
are safeguarded against loss,
- Databases
are protected from disaster, fraud and tampering and
- Clients
and staff can effectively monitor the registration process through
accurate and timely information.
“This certification means a lot to CompuSystems. In
today’s accounting climate there is a focus on reliable data. It is
important that policies and procedures are in place to prevent fraud and misappropriation
of assets,” McCaffray continued. “This
certification confirms to us and to our customers that we have achieved a
proper set of internal control objectives.”
