CompuSystems introduces
wireless solutions for show organizers
Technology
debuts at National Manufacturing Week and Exhibitor Show
BROADVIEW,
IL -- CompuSystems, Inc. (CSI) has introduced a series of wireless
solutions for the exposition industry designed to help trade show managers
add value to their events.
Called
Session Tracking and Access Control, the wireless solutions debuted
recently during National Manufacturing Week (NMW) in Chicago and at the
Exhibitor Show in Las Vegas.
“Our
new wireless technology can be used for session access control and
tracking, and attendance verification,” said Paul McCaffray, CSI COO.
“The biggest advantage is that it gives show managers a real time
connection to their registration database using a completely secure
handheld personal digital assistant (PDA).
It’s simple to administer, simple to operate and fast to
respond.”
“I
have done quite a few tradeshows requiring access control for our
conference sessions,” said Desiree Hanson, Registration Manager, Reed
Exhibitions.
“NMW was the first time where the concept had been perfected.
It is a user friendly, compact device that was networked to our
database based on a signal and it worked beautifully. Not a single
problem.”
The
new wireless solutions also worked well at Exhibitor Show.
“Wireless
access at the entrance to seminars this year eliminated the usual
cumbersome task of removing badges from badge holders for scanning into
access control units,” said Carol Fojtik, Exhibitor Show Managing
Director.
“Instead of long lines, our registrants could proceed quickly
into the meeting rooms, a welcome change.
“Badges
were encoded on the front side so the new beaming system detected whether
the attendee was entering the correct seminar. Because the wireless units
were connected in real time with the show's registration system,
attendees who added seminars or changed their seminar
schedule did not have to acquire a new badge, saving time and
costs.”
Wireless
technology has other advantages too.
“We
used to drop electrical connections for each of the show’s conference
rooms and then, individually program the badge scanner to handle the
seminars offered there,” McCaffray said.
“With our new system, any of our handheld units can be quickly
programmed to handle any of the sessions and no drops were needed.
“These
new wireless solutions are all part of our continuing efforts to reduce
costs to organizers while improving services,” McCaffray concluded.
